I am looking forward hugely to the year ahead. In May we are going to the Hay Festival where I’ll be doing two performances of one of my concerts and talking about ‘Listen to the Moon’. In September one my favourite short stories ‘My Father is a Polar Bear’ is being published by Walker Books with truly wonderful illustrations by Felicita Sala.
This year I am thrilled to have theatrical productions adapted from my books, playing all around the country. In July ‘Running Wild’ is being performed at the Chichester Festival, in August an adaptation of ‘The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips’ is being performed in Cornwall by Knee High, the play is called ‘946’. Look out for magical performances of ‘I Believe in Unicorns’ by Alibi Theatre all over the country! And last but not least Joey trots on in War Horse in London, Holland and soon in Belgium – and before the end of the year in Beijing, China!
During the year I will be travelling up and down the country, speaking at festivals and also performing with my friends John Tams, Coope, Boyes and Simpson, Voices at the Door and The Storyteller’s Ensemble, concerts inspired by ‘War Horse’, ‘Private Peaceful’ and ‘The Mozart Question’. And for the first time Clare and I will appear on stage together in our new concert based on ‘Where my Wellies Take Me’!
So it is going to be a busy year. It would be great to meet you if you were able to come to one of my talks or one of the concerts.
All good wishes,
April 2015
