The Once Upon A Wartime exhibition at Imperial War Museum, London delves into the pages of well-loved children’s books, bringing five stories of war and conflict dramatically to life.
The life-size sets, evocative imagery and fascinating exhibits take families on an immersive journey through the worlds of the books as they explore the themes of war from a child’s perspective.
To accompany the exhibition, the Museum is hosting its very first Children’s Literature Festival this summer from Saturday 13 August to Sunday 21 August. This jam-packed programme of author events and hands-on workshops kicks off with a talk from best-selling author Michael Morpurgo about his stories of war and conflict.
