War Horse: The Story in Concert – Leeds

Date: Sun 25 November

Venue: Victoria Hall

Orchestra of Opera North
St Peter’s Singers
David Angus – conductor
Michael Morpurgo – narrator

In the centenary year marking the end of the First World War, the Orchestra of Opera North performs War Horse: The Story in Concert. With guest narrator Michael Morpurgo himself, we tell the emotionally charged story of Joey, the young farm horse who finds himself taken from the calm of the English countryside and thrust into the horrors of the Western Front’s battlefields.

This performance features Adrian Sutton’s acclaimed score, composed originally for the National Theatre’s production of Michael Morpurgo’s tale, alongside hand drawn visuals to illustrate the story.
